Kristi Hellyer

I made my first scrapbook in 1989, although I didn't realize what I was doing at the time- I made a book of engagement and wedding mementos that I knew deserved a special place so I wouldn't lose them!  I really got started in the hobby when my grandmother died in 1997.  It was very therapeutic and healing to create scrapbooks from all her old photos.

My wonderful husband and I have been married for 16 years and we have one adorable 2-year-old daughter.   They both lovingly put up with my constant picture taking!

Other than scrapbooking, I love to decorate my home, paint and sew.

I love little details on my layouts like sewing and flowers, and I enjoy coming up with new color combinations. The Simply Spring and Genuine Girl lines from Reminisce are my favorite!

Inspiration for me comes from so many places - I love fashion magazines, and I often "lift" ideas from famous designers!  I also love going to the beach and being inspired by the soothing colors of water & sky, and textures of the sand and shells.

I have been scrapping for about 6 years.

I am a single mom of Jenna 17, Jordan 15, and Kirk 13. My middle son has autism so that puts an extra twist to life! I graduated from Iowa's nursing school in 1982 and have been there ever since. I am currently a RN in the Operating Room at the U.

My hobbies are scrapbooking (of course!) I really love making projects, photography, and going on trips! (I can't wait for my yearly trip with my girlfriends to Riviera Maya in January!)

My favorite technique is sanding and inking! I love the look of shabby and used. I think I get my frustrations out with my sanding block! I love the Reminisce travel paper the most! (I am using it to make a very cool album from my DC trip).

My biggest scrap inspiration would have to be color and/or design. It is hard to choose. I love them both and love to experiment with both!

I have been scrapbooking for about 10 years. I have always been “crafty”, and have tried just about every type of craft on the planet. But nothing held my attention for long --- until I discovered scrapbooking, which coincidentally happened the very day I found out I was expecting my first child! The timing was perfect and I was hooked on scrapbooking from the very start!

I have been happily married for 13 years to my husband Rob, who is a civil service program manager for the Air Force. He is very supportive of my scrapbook “addiction”! We have 2 children, both boys - so I’m outnumbered. My oldest, Drew is 9 and is in fourth grade. Christopher, my baby, who will tell you he ISN’T a baby anymore, will be starting Kindergarten next year. Both boys enjoy bowling, miniature golf and trips to the amusement park.

I am working on improving my photography skills, so it has become a hobby of sorts. Are there other hobbies outside of scrapbooking and photography? I think I used to have some!

My favorite technique is mixing, matching and layering papers. Before I begin a project, I play with several and layer them in different ways, to see what I like best. My favorite Reminisce line is DEFINITELY the Boys Gone Wild line; I love the bright colors, the fabulous graphics and the awesome stickers! (I’m also pretty crazy about the Black and White Basics and the Stripestock lines!)

Color is my biggest inspiration. My designs always begin with color; it sets the mood for the project. My photographs usually inspire my color palette, but occasionally, I print my photos in black and white so I can experiment with a certain set of colors!

I've been scrapping for 8 years and started just before my first daughter was born. Having learned nothing about products being AF/LF I used a ton of rubber cement and pages that were 10x11- weird sizes. I went back after I learned the proper products and redid those first pages!

My husband and I just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary.  We have two girls, Alizabeth who is 8 going on 18 and Annalise who just turned 5 years old. Both girls are active in TaeKwonDo and my pride and joy this year will be in watching my oldest earn her Black Belt!

I love to bake! During the holidays we make tons of sweets and treats and send them in to friends, family and coworkers. I also like to crochet and make crafts for home decor. My husband and I enjoy building furniture pieces and finishing them for our home. And I love to take my girls fun places to get great pictures!!

My favorite scrapbooking technique is mixing patterned papers and I’m very addicted to photo corners- I love them! My favorite Reminisce products are the Halloween collections- I love the bright colors and the fun papers. I'm attracted in a big way to all the Reminisce papers, I love papers that are versatile, and these have so many fun uses!

Techniques are a huge inspiration to me, but color is what I love. Add in some texture elements and I'm a happy girl. I never scrap in order and have no desire to get 'caught up’, I am happy just jumping around from season to season, scrapping whichever theme appeals to me at the time.

I have been scrapbooking for about 5 years. I was first introduced to scrapbooking through an in-home scrapbook party. Although I liked the idea of capturing my family's memories, it wasn't until a few years later, when I discovered an online scrapbook community and began subscribing to scrapbook magazines, that I really embraced the hobby. Now, scrapbooking is as much about being a creative outlet for me as it is about documenting memories!

My favorite Reminisce products are the papers! I love the variety of all the different collections - from elegant patterns in soft pastels to funky designs in bright colors...and everything in between. Reminisce has papers for any scrapping style and just about any theme!

My husband Dave and I have been married 14 years. We have a 7-year-old son, Peyton, and a 4-year-old daughter, Lindsey. A genuine boy, Peyton enjoys sports like baseball, football, and swimming, and is fond of collecting bugs. Lindsey is a girly-girl who loves dolls, dress-up, and all the Disney princesses. I am fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom to my children, who both keep me busy and provide plenty of inspiration for my scrapbook layouts! In addition to scrapbooking, I enjoy volunteering at school, being a Colts fan and planning our family vacations.

I love scrapbooking because it combines three things I really have a passion for doing: photography, writing, and design. I find inspiration in all kinds of places - in books,

I started scrapbooking in 2002. A friend of mine had given me an album and I decided to give it a try when my youngest son started pre-school. It pains me to say this, but the first few pages I made, I glued the photos to the page with Elmer's glue. EEEKK! I bought a scrapbooking magazine and within a few months completed the album. I started selling paper piecings on Ebay in 2005 and started designing for a few manufacturers.

I love all the Reminisce lines, but my favorites are Genuine Boy, Shades of Autumn and Witch's Brew. These lines are so fun and perfect for boys. The number one thing I love about the Reminisce products is the quality. I really like to experiment with different techniques. I always said the one technique I would never do is stamping, but now I buy them like crazy!

I'm married to Barry, who also happens to be my best friend. I have 3 boys, Alex, 16, Brandon, 15 and Jared, 8. One great thing about our family is our "musical" interest. My husband and I both play in a 70's/80's Classic Rock band, along with Barry's brother Michael and both my older boys. Jared's well on his way…his first word was "drum"! I play keyboards/piano and I'm learning violin. I also write Bible class curriculum for children.

Color and texture are my biggest inspirations. Sometimes, I think I'm the only person who goes and hangs out in fabric/furniture stores for inspiration. I also love glass shops, the colors are truly inspirational.

I began to scrapbook ten years ago when I was invited to my first scrapbooking party. There has been no looking back ever since!

I have been married for almost 28 years - my husband Jim and I have three kids; Kyle, 23, graduated from college in 2007 and is currently a scouting coordinator for a company called The Perfect Game. Daughter Katie, 21 just finished her junior year at the U. of Iowa and is a member of the dance team. Molly is 17 and will attend the U. of Iowa this fall and joins her sister on the dance team.

Besides scrapbooking, I love to read! My favorite author is Jody Piccoult. I am determined to read all of her books and am more than halfway there. I also like to bake-pies are my specialty!

My favorite Reminisce line, if I had to pick just one, is French Kitchen, because I love black and white papers. The Reminisce alpha stickers are my favorite of any alpha stickers!

My favorite technique is inking my pages. Additionally, you can almost always find buttons, flowers or photo corners on my layouts. I love using extra-large photo corners.

Inspiration comes to me in many ways. I find it in magazines, catalogs, my pictures…and just going through all my piles of scrapbooking stuff!
